All of my fixed-focal-length EOS lenses have a DOF scale, which are, however,
useless, because the space between the two marks representing the smallest
possible aperture is tiny. This is no doubt due to the relatively short distance
the focusing mechanism moves. If you look at an FD lens, perhaps especially
those without internal focus, you'll notice that the focusing ring turns much
farther when going from one extreme to the other, compared with an EOS lens. You
wouldn't want an AF lens to have that much rotation, unless you didn't mind
having s-l-o-w AF. :-)
