I've heard that because of the T/S, it'll be
incompatible with the existing 1.4x and 2x extenders,
but that Canon have developed a new revolutionary
technology 3x extender for it that loses only 1/2 a
stop.
It's rumoured to be available in white and a special
version with a transparent barrel that actually adds 2
stops due to the extraneous light entering from the
sides. ;-)
It must be a rumour based in truth, April 1 was
several days ago ...... :-)
