Considering the great ratings this lens got, I was really tempted to buy one
until I noticed the weight. It is over two pounds! That is more than twice
as
heavy as other L lenses such as the 24/1.4 or 35/1.4 (which are heavy
compared
to other "non-L" lenses).

Does anyone out there own one? Do you need a camera bag with wheels like
airport luggage? Is it really that much better than the 85/1.8 to be worth
dragging around?

Add slow AF to the list and you are much much better off with the 845mm
F1.8.
Yes, it does not end with the letter L, but it is an excellent lens and will
serve you as well as the 85mm F1.2L with the exception that you lose the
super fast F1.2 and F1.4 apertures.
