Darker viewfinder, no FTM, less speed.

It is close to a full stop, and yes, I have experienced 
several occasions where this saved my butt. Depends on
ones setup, of course.

It is very sharp, one of the best lenses ever.
It allows for very shallow depth of field.

Disadvantages though: If you use AF (I don't) it is
pretty slow (manually it is pure charm) and closest 
focussing distance is a poor 85 centimeters.
