It's a folding angle bracket and on the flash attachment it is like a
hot-shoe on the EOS body (without the 5 contacts).

What the OCSC2 lacks is a groove on the base that will allow it to slip on
to the 'hot-shoe' of the bracket. The OCSC2 does have a tripod socket but
there is nowhere to place a bolt on the Hama bracket.
I may just have to have the 550EX mounted on the EOS 30 and hope that this
is far enough from the lens to avoid dread-eye.
