| No, not a metal plate but on each side of the plastic square piece with
the
| tripod socket, there should be a groove. Did you buy your OCSC new?

Yes I did, but quite some time ago. I usually hand-hold the flash but I
would like to have it on a support for this wedding. I guess I'll go down to
my local Jessops at the weekend and see if they have one in stock for a
comparison.

| tighten to allow the OCSC2 to slip on? Do you have the base thingie facing
| in the right direction, cord to the front? I use the OCSC2, and it fits on
| my Stroboframe bracket, and I just checked and the part that fits on the
| bracket also fits perfectly into the camera's hot shoe, so if your bracket
| has a hot shoe-like place to attach it, it should fit.

There is a fixing on the bracket to take a flash but as others have said
about the grooves on the base, they are not on mine 8o(
