I'd take the 70-200 4.0L because it has USM and thus faster autofocusing,
which is important to me in a telephoto lens and because it's new and
no-risk. Sure, I'd love to have the 2.8 aperture but it won't do me much
good if I miss a fast action shot due to slow AF, or if the lens turns out
to be defective and needs service that increases the cost.
