For the price and speed 28-70mm f/2.8 EX Aspherical, and 70-200mm f/2.8 EX
APO HSM.
For me I opted to buy 28-135 IS, 50mm F1.4, and 100-400mm F4-5,6 IS L.
While speed is nice, IS is wonderful. Put the savings towards a 550EX Flash
