A professional is one who makes money or a living doing whatever it is
he/she does. It's as simple as that. Some amatuers are better than a lot of
professionals. They just don't, for whatever reason, make
a living/money at what they do.
As for sports shooting with a D30, I've done it. It takes some getting used
to. I wish it had the speed of my EOS 1n or even my A2e, but it doesn't so
I've had to adjust. (Not much, though, since my previous digital was a
DCS-3. Talk about a tank....)
