My EOS 5 mode dial broke twice before I got fed up with it and changed
camera. I always wondered if it was just my camera, but it seems other
people have experienced this problems. How common is it? Furthermore,
they don't just replace the dial, they replace the whole hood, including
flash, because it seems that the dial mechanism is built in the hood and
there is no way to replace just the dial, which turns it into a very
expensive failure.
