I was planning on getting a 420EX at first, because I heard only this
flash will assist all 7 focus points on the Elan 7. I'm also getting
the ST-E2 for remote flash and for focus assist at times when I don't
want the extra bulk of the 420EX on the camera. I figure I'll get
the 550EX sometime later when I need two remote flashes.
Can those who know both flashes let me know if the 420EX and 550EX
will work fine together--or if I'm being short sighted and making a
mistake in my gameplan. I really don't mind the extra expense of the
550, but it seems in the case of the Elan 7 there is reason to go
with the lesser flash.
