It was my understanding that v1.6 is what all EOS3's are shipping with now.
The v1.7 includes CF-19 which adds functionality to the AF stop buttons on
the big tele's. That is why I sent my cameras in. According to what I read
on the net, v1.6 and v1.7 have the same metering algorithm and there should
be no change. I do not know how to check firmware versions, all I know is
that my pre- v1.7 camera metered 2/3 stop slower than my post-1.7. Also the
returned work order listed firmware upgrade and 'clean and adjust.'
