I just got my 630 and my 650 out of storage. I tested both bodies with both
my IS lenses: the 75-300 and the 100-400. There was no viewfinder shake
after shutter release (nor before shutter release). In all cases, the lens
was in autofocus mode, with IS switched on (of course).

There was no such clunking with the 630 or 650. The IS mechanism appeared
to work just as well as with my EOS 3.

There was no shaking with either the 630 or the 650, and the image remained
stable, even in continuous wind mode. The experiment served to remind me
how much faster the continuous wind mode is on the 630 than the 650.
