Hi Dan,

The zooms do have IR adjustment marks. But there is a different
mark for only a limited number of focal lengths.  E.g. for the
EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM, there are four IR marks for 
100 mm, 135 mm, 150 mm, and 200 mm. See:

If you zoom to somewhere in between, you have to estimate the
amount of adjustment by guesswork.  Or hope that DOF is enough
to cover the subject.

When you shoot IR with a prime lens, do you also bracket focus?

P.S. The eosdoc pictures are low quality because they were shot
with digital video (0.3megapixel). I will reshoot with a better
camera when I can.
