Very interesting comments.
According to Canon specs, the Elan 7E autofocus is as FAST
as the EOS 3 and EOS 1v, although not as precise for f/2.8
lenses. However, I don't always trust Canon specs.
What are YOUR impressions comparing just the autofocus
speed on the EOS 1n and your Elan 7?
