Why? Can the 50/ 1.8 somehow zoom now? Even though I have 50mm available
on my 35-135 lens, I can't remember wanting to ever use it for anything.
Sharp is nice, yes. Framing and composition is everything for me though.
Love those zooms.
    Can't take portraits with a 50, can't take landscapes, can't change the
framing... etc.
    I still remember the first slr I had, a Minolta SRT101 with 50mm/ f1.4
lens - sharp and fast. But I can remember always wanting another focal
length, either longer or wider. I don't remember any memorable pictures I
took with it either. I remember pointing that 50 at beautiful vistas of
scenery and just putting the camera back in the bag. No way I could capture
that scene with only a part of it showing in camera. I remember many
portraits that were ok except for overly large looking noses... etc.
