Valid point. Then you and I must base our choise on other features.
E.g. I would check how the balance between:
- price (incl. my budget)
- mechanical quality
- reliability (including compatibility)
- resale value
- service availability
on these lenses is. In fact I would consider a second hand Canon
but would be more careful with second hand <brand-X> lenses.
But it is just my opinion which is not better than your opinion.
You are not asking me but I could use f1.4 @35mm so f2.8 at 35mm
*has* some value. I try to avoid using flash.
Others should/would decide on their own (arguments), of course.
