Hi Julian,
A curious guy you're :-)
> Some quick questions:
> 1) How big the aquarium? (fishbowl? Seaworld?)
It's about 30x50x10cm (wxhxd). Flat, with sanded glass at the left side
and alu tape making a reflector of the right one. I made with the
photographic purpose in mind.
> 2) How big is the fish?
Who mentioned a fish? Not me. :-) No fish inthere. Only water.
> 3) Can you use more than one flash?
Nop. At least until I save enough for the second 550ex. Well, estrictely
speaking about "CAN", yes I could, but as it's lacking I used the
aluminium tape to make a reflector of the right glass side. It works
fine. The tape is the one used for sealing the isolation under parket.
It's quite reflective and works for me.
> P.S. With the 550EX on a OCSC2 and a Stofen Omnibounce
> held over the water, there should be no problem.
I've the 550EX -bare- at the left side (connected using the OCSC2 veeery
streeeechted), the light is difussed by the sanded glass at that side.
No need for the Omnibounce.
> Do you use a rubber lens hood to prevent reflections?
I use some back cardboard for that purpose. I lost one film and several
good frames because the intermitent red light (showing while MLU was
being triggered with the RC-1) on the 50E was being reflected back. I
learned the hard way :-(
A hood wouldn't have help neither. Black cardboard everywhere ! :-)
(also under and behind the aquarium).
Any ideas about the flash coverage?
Greetings,
Gerard.
