Hi guys,

Sorry for this one. I really don't like much the A vs. B stuff but I
need to see this match....

After having nigthmares of the greatest candid I could not take, while
photographing a wedding party last friday, I'm thinking more seriously
about replacing my EOS50E.
I was using a 100f/2.8 USM with light enough for 90f/5.6 ISO 400 and the
thing wouldn't lock on the subject. The light was pretty flat, but I
still think it could have done better.

This question is for those who have "migrated" from the 50E (Elan IIE)
to the 30 (EOS 7). Do you feel the AF is improved compared to the
EOS50E? Is it faster/better ?

I can't afford anything above that (for example, a -3, or 1v) so my
option is either stay with the 50E or sell it and save for a 30.

I'd like to hear some comparisons. Thanks!! :-)

Greetings,

Gerard.

PS: In case you're curious: the scene was a guy holding a baby in his
arms while having a glass of champagne in one hands. The baby and the
glass were kind of close and the baby was trying to reach the champagne
with his tonge. It was very *VERY* funny. By the time the lens toured
from 1:1 back to infinite the whole thing was over. I'd have love to
have that pic, and I'm sure the couple that are (meta-)paying me too.
(Def: meta-payment = costs + tip, nothing serious).
