I have never had a problem getting my ElanII to lock on at wedding parties
and I do not have 2.8 lens. Were you using all focusing points or center
focus. I only use center focusing and never experienced the problem that you
had. If you had 3 focusing points activated this may explain why you lost
the oppurtunity as the focusing points may have been looking at something
else, was it in AI -AI-servo or one shot?
