Hi George,
could the reason be the different focal length of the lenses? While the
viewfinder image is supposed to be the same as on film, it often isn't.
OTOH, if the difference is big enough to be seen, it must be real big.
Our eyes adapt very fast and during the lens change there is plenty of
time. I doubt I could reliably see a difference of 1/2 stop in the
viewfinder without seeing both views simultaneously. Comparing brightness
is quite difficult without a reference.
