Hi,
As a primarily outdoor photographer I tend to use FP flash a lot more often
than not. At motor racing events, for instance, when shooting pit action I
run a faster film to give a good depth of field for some shots, but then go
for maximum aperture when a good portrait shot presents itself. I have had
only good results using FP mode.

Following this discussion has raised a question in my mind though - as I use
so much HSS mode I leave this mode programmed constantly and had wondered
why it doesn't automatically select HSS mode when the x-synch speed is
exceeded ( as Minolta does). What is happening when I shoot below the
x-synch limit with HSS selected? Does the flash revert to the normal flash
mode, or continue using the FP mode which unnecessarily reduces
output/range?
Anyone know?
Regards, Tim
