>>>Still a little confused about the settings for fill flash,
especially when
using it for macro. I have an Elan 7 and 420 EX flash. The
manual says that
the flash will detect that it is being used for fill flash and
automatically
compensate. Yet, many books I have read speak about using 1-2
stops of
negative FEC for fill flash use (though not specifically for the
420EX).
What has the experience among users been? Will the 420EX
compensate
adequately under most conditions? During macro use? Should one
still dial in
some negative FEC?<<<<
This one issue has caused more problems, confusion, and grief
for Canon users than you will believe. Try and find the FAQ by
Chuck Westfall, (Canon rep) for a pretty good guide. I *think* I
get most of it, but there's no way I can every try to explain it
<g>.
