The EOS 3 has an inner shell of metal that protects most of the sensitive stuff
inside...

The 30 is more than enough for most amatures. I chose a 3 because I wanted something
REALLY rugged. It was quite a step up in both weight and size from my 300, but I love
it. I don't have the booster yet, but I plan on getting it because of the vertical
shutter release and the NiMH battery-packs (the extra fps isn't interesting).
