Why should I care about inanimate objects being annoyed by a flashing white
a/f assist light? It is when I am photographing people, or at least scenes
with people in them, that it becomes a problem. It is when you point your
camera at them and it starts to flicker or flash that they become annoyed.
With the Elan 7 (and also my Maxxum 600si through the flash itself) it is
really irritating. A single flash pop when the picture is snapped is
annoying enough, but at least people expect it. But with The white assist
light, you even get it when you are shooting with available light.
