That seems like the right idea, but apparently it still uses the flash
itself. I want it all: an infrared assist that I can turn on or off easily,
plus the optional and easy to control ability to draw the flash into
service, but only when I want to. Unfortunately, a/f camera designers seem
to put it in as an afterthought and don't really think it through.
