Nor does it hurt you. Or does it?

I think I have discussed all these options and found them wanting, which is
why I decided, as I said at the outset, not o buy the camera but to stay
with the II and wait for something better. If someone were to give me a 7e
I would probably make do with it, but my hope is that Canon will rethink
their design, either of the 7 or of what hopefully will be an A2
replacement. However your suggestion below is certainly valuable for owners
of the camera. BTW, I do have as 550 EX, and it is a big, heavy piece of
equipment. But where there is a will there is a way.

Etc. etc. Say, there are literally hundreds of cameras that every single
photographer in the world did not buy. I did not buy and don't plan to buy
the Elan 7e, and I gave my reasons. I also hope that the discussion may,
along with other discussions and frank complaints from photographers, find
its way back to Canon so that some day thay will rethink this aspect of
their design. You don't have to feel insulted as an owner of the camera
that someone else doesn't like it. Really, you are, I am sure, a fine and
worthy person, with many good qualities. I am also quite certain that you
take very good pictures with your Elan 7e and are probably much more handy
with the controls than I am. Good shooting.

Gerry
