Well is shallow DOF really that good?
I own an FD 85mm/1.2 L lens. I guess it has the same characteristics.
Most of my shots come out out of focus. The combination of my
slow MF and hardly existing DOF produces a lot of bad images.
But indeed if I manage to hit the target the results are stunning.
OTOH I have an EF 135/2.0 L lens. It's AF so that the NSR is much
better and it blows the backgroud away as well.
So the short answer to your question is:
Try the EF 200/2.8 L. It can be had for USD 500 mint.
Maybe the blurr effect is good enough for you.
