Hi Tom-
According to the EF lens brochure, with a 1.4x, the maximum aperture of
the 100-400 becomes 6.7. With a 2x, the maximum aperature becomes 9.5.
Again, according to the brochure, AF is "possible" with the 1.4x but
"impossible" with the 2x. (I suspect that means it will "hunt" a lot -
too much for it to be useful, really. Can anyone confirm this?)
And it says that the Image Stabilizer does not operate with either
extender on that lens.
I don't have this lens, or any extenders, so people that do might have
some information that is contrary to this.
