Hi Bob,

Yes, I haven't thought of that. What an excellent idea! Perhaps I'll try
to find a 2nd hand EOS 1V body at some stage. I did bring along a little
basic P/S camera in case the big gun stopped working, but in the end I lent
it to someone else in my tour group who had lost her camera. At least I
felt that my "backup" got used. :)

Yes, the zoo visit was really good, and I was surprised that my pictures of
a tiger came out well despite me having to press my lens hard up against a
perspex wall. It was like it didn't exist at all! :)

Best regards,

Lawrance

Lawrance,

Why not get a second body? Price wise you can come out ahead and you will
have the advantage of a second body should the other fail. You will also
have the L glass with you.....

A quick scan of one of the major mail order houses shows the Elan 7 at about
$400US, the EOS-3 At about $850US and the EOS-5qd at about $485US, and the
Tokina 28-200 at about $760US.

Two of the bodies are less than the Tokina lens and the -3 less than $100US
above the Tokina lens.

Bob

BTW, I hope you enjoyed your zoo trip as much as I did mine.
