  I can't answer this question, but if the design of the R2K flash is 
anything like that of the original Elan flash, all I can say is - DO 
NOT REMOVE THIS SCREW.

Alas, I once did so and even now lament the terrible error. ie: I 
can't get the flash to close properly. Grm. Also, the screw doesn't 
let you adjust the vertical position of the metal tab as I recall.
