Metering:

Elan II has 6-zone evaluative and 9.5% "partial" metering available.
A2 has 16-zone eval. and 3.5% spot metering.
EOS-3 has 21-zone eval., 8.5% partial, 2.4% spot, and "multi-spot" metering.
(They all have center-weighted available.)

Any specific questions, hit me off-line if you like. BTW, I have two Elan II
bodies. Every now and then I wish I had spot-metering, but I generally leave
the camera in evaluative mode and have been satisfied -- and have done a few
weddings.
