Hi Jeff,

The position of the AF points is one of the main issues I have with the EOS
3 body. Additionally I had experience with a pair of EOS 5 bodies which
come with ECF and found that the ECF of the EOS 3 was while improved not
improved enough to have to pay for the honor of turning it off. Anyway I
found that turning off ECF noticeably improved the AF performance of the
camera body. Personally I would like to see a central AF point surrounded
by a squashed circle of AF points. Three vertical, three horizontal in
thirds with the other 4 points drawn in slightly from a pure 1/3 pattern to
form a 9 AF point flattened oval and ALL high precision cross type sensors
or at least the 5 central points. No useless ECF to waste CPU cycles, thus
improving the AF performance and shutter release times.

Regards,

Chip Louie
