I agree completely. I think you just go out and shoot. I live in Malaysia btw and humidity is a constant problem. I just keep my gear in plastic boxes with lots of that dessicating stuff that's recycled in a microwave. So far, no fungus on any lens yet... I've tromped into tropical rainforest, had my gear (EOS50/30, 70-200 2.8 and 24-85) splashed with rainwater or if you're shooting during a major monsoon season at a beach, strong winds with salt sprays and all... I just clean them with a dry cloth everynight. A room with the AC on most of the time helps as it lowers the humidity quite a bit. > Don't go tromping about in the rain with out protection, but as for the > humidity on a trip to the tropics, I personally would not worry too much > about it. Heck I'd take both my EOS and my Leica gear on a trip like Especially if it's for a limited duration... one or two trips definitely won't hury imho. Living here forever probably will ;-D eugene [EMAIL PROTECTED] * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
