Hi Keith,

The 308 head also uses a lever lock but does not give any problem with
movement when clamped. I have used this with the 1v + booster + 28 - 70/2.8
all hanging off to the side for vertical shots. I have the RC head which
uses the smaller rectangular QR plate. They can twist at times but generally
handle the job and are small & easy to use.

When I use certain lenses like the 70-200L IS and have the booster fitted,
the lever lock for the QR fouls the booster and cannot actually be operated.
For those lenses I reverse the plate on the lens and work with the head
backwards - the lever faces forward instead of backwards. Gets around the
problem.

I'm hoping to get over to the US in the next year and will buy myself the
Arca Swiss head and a full range of the Really Right Stuff plates to suit my
gear. Thats the plan anyway.

Regards, Tim
