Yes, and I love it and I hate it.  I got a Nikon Coolpix 885 for
Christmas.  It's a great/terrible camera, and I haven't processed a
single roll of film since I got it (I'm sure this will change when the
weather here gets better).

Certainly, it can't replace my EOS equipment.  However, immediate
results, zero per-photo cost, and not having to visit the photo shop
make it great for casual use.  Plus, my wife isn't afraid of it.  Here
are my detailed thoughts regarding the benefits/drawbacks of using the
885 vs. my SLR:
