Greetings All, I recently bought a GR20 Grip with a Canon Vertical Release Shutter Button. I understand that this button was available some time ago (when the 6xx series cameras were current, and perhaps even pre-EOS) and that it screws into the T2 (?) remote socket on the GR20 grip (or any T2 socket). It has an outer ring which provides a lock position and an "on" position.
My problem is that in the "on" position, my cameras (EOS RT and EOS 630) will meter and autofocus, but the button will not trigger the release of the shutter, no matter how hard I press on it. Has anyone ever used/owned one of these and is there anything obvious that I'm missing in making it actually trip the shutter? I don't have another GR20 grip to compare it with (just the standard GR30's) so I don't know if the button unscrews, or has to be removed from the inside of the grip (I'm not game to just twist hard on it and perhaps break it completely). This is a potentially useful accessory that I'd like to get working properly. Regards Gary This mail has passed through an insecure network.
