Thanks Dav, 

The button was so tight that I had to remove it using a pair of pliers (carefully) and 
even then it only took 1/2 turn to remove, so something was obviously wrong.  When I 
inspected the button, it struck me that the only way it would screw in correctly was 
with the button depressed - any other way resulted in an incorrect mounting of the VR 
button. Now that I've worked out how to mount it, it works a treat, just as it should 
- thanks for the help Dave, much appreciated.

P.S. If I get rid of my RT & 630 I may put the grip and VR button up for auction - 
until then I'll make good use of it!
