I disagree about 28-135mm being sharper. I did my own tests, and prelim results show me that it is on par with 28-105. fwiw, hand holdingf a 85mm 1.8 and 28-135 IS at 5.6 at 85mm, 4x6's show quite a difference in sharpness.
