Well, I think I've picked up quite a bit from the "Multiple Flash" thread but I have a few questions. I currently own a single 420EX flash. I'd like to add to this to build a basic studio setup. My concern right now is to stay as inexpensive as possible but still have a flexible enough setup so I can play around and learn.
Keeping this in mind, it looks like I can buy a ST-E2, and a second 420EX and this will be enough to get me started. I thought about a 550EX and losing the ST-E2 but I think this would end up costing more (i.e. an OCS2 for off-camera but that's only 2' long) and the gain would be in flash power and the ability to use external power sources; things that aren't important to me right now. Please correct me if any of this is wrong. The next thing I'd like to do is pick up softboxes for the flashes. I've seen the Lumiquests on B&H's site. Anyone have a recommendation? Also, are their tripods specifically designed for flash use or is a general use tripod just fine?
