That's what I use. I also use the new 1800 MaH NiMH AAs in the flash and
the recycletime is faster than with AA alkalines.
But with the Turbo its about 1-2 seconds full recylce. When I am using the
flash at events or even when I am outdoors using it as fill for promo shits
the Quantum is the ONLY way to really ensure you never run out of power. It
is pricey but how much are missed shots due to your waiting for the flash to
recycle worth? Especially when you get that perfect shot biut did not wait
for the flash to recycle. Never happens with a Turbo. Plus you do only use
3alkaline AAs and a dummy cell so the full power comes from the Quantum and
never drains your AAs. Interesting way to save.
I sometimes use 2 Turbos and 2 cables for when I am using them with the
ST-E2 or one 550EX is one camera. If I keep the 550EX flashes neear each
other I use the Quantum QT-48 (number?) which allows you to use one turbo
battery with 2 550EX flashes. And you still get both recycling in about 2-3
seconds. Can't do that with the CB-E2 now can you?
