I've been using my Canon 100 mm USM macro lens a fair amount
lately and am starting to think about getting a monopod.
In taking close ups of flowers and such, I find the normal exposure
limitations and magnifications involved driving me in the direction.

I'm interested in hearing if others have monopods they are fond of
and what sort of head they are using on these sticks. I'm thinking
a tilt swivel head is useful but am uncertain about that.

I'm currently considering the Bogen (Manfrotto) 3218 with the
3232 tilt swivel head and adding the tripod mount ring
to my lens. (even though the tripod mount ring is way pricey).
I've heard varying opinions about the leg extension
latch style clamps that Bogen uses vs. the rotating collar
that Gitzo have. Opinions on clamp styles would be informative.

It would be way cool if Canon would add IS to the 100mm
USM macro, even better on the 180 (but I doubt I could afford
that).
TIA,
JimD
