Humberto, pretty much everything has been said already in previous posts. The lower the sun, the more atmosphere is between you and the sun. Once you don't have to squint anymore when you look at the setting sun, you should notice how it apperars less bright and more orange. At that point you can savely photograph it with the equipment you have. It is just like a regular sunset photograph at that point. Use a fine-grain film (e.g. 100F) to allow for cropping the negative during printing if you don't have much focal length. Framing the sunset and setting eclipsed sun with the horizon line and other objects adds interest to the photograph. The Weather forecast doesn't look good for my location, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It will less than 30% occulation anyways here in Minneapolis ... Anyways, don't forget to photograph those crescent shadows. Many people only think about the eclipsed sun itself. Good luck, Lars -- .~.
