chip how about the canon 28-200, there is tow version one with usm, it seems
pretty good

Hi David,

If you can accept or only need snapshot quality images on your film most any
of them are good enough.  Sigma's 28-200 3.5-5.6 Aspheric Hyper Zoom and
28-300 3.5-5.6 DL Hyper Zoom come to mind as does Tamron's 28-200 3.8-5.6 LD
IF Aspheric Super, they offer comparable performance and are OK but not as
good optically nor as fast focusing as Canon's own EF 55-200 4.5-5.6USM.
But these are poor to mediocre lenses at best, even the best of them the
Canon.  If you want very good to excellent image quality there are no such
lenses with this extreme zoom range for EOS mount cameras.
