Hi, Chip I did start with a canon d60 right when they came out, beside
having a small viewfinder which was bugging me from the d30 days, it was a
very slow camera. so i sold it and got a 1D and even though it is a 4 meg
camera, the pictures are great and the camera is wonderful. it took me a
while to get use to the camera and be able to produce the right picture but
now i love it. i also got the S2 and am going through the learning curb with
it. as far as full frame is concerned, i think neither canon or nikon can do
it because of the large ccd/com size and the small mount size and only
contax with the n system has a full size digital but all the n lenses are so
big as big as medium format lenses. i have heard rumors that canon is coming
out with a new 6meg 1d. that would be the ideal camera, we should also
expect nikon to put out some great stuff sincre they are now behind canon
and trying to catch up or take the lead in digital.

Hi Bob!

After working with some D60 images and playing with the camera a bit even
I'm giving digital serious consideration! I thought that I would not be
really happy with a 6MP sensor but I'm having to back up a bit. The only
real problem I see with the current affordable (YIKES! $2,200USD), Canon EOS
body is that the AF is horrible even with all f/2.8 and faster lenses. I
borrowed an EOS 1d for an afternoon and this is the way I want a digital
body to be except for the smallish CCD sensor and the detector noise that
comes with it at any speed over ISO 100. I'd be very happy with an EOS 1d
and a 12MP CMOS sensor! As far as large image size output goes I think that
even working with a D60 image saved as a TIFF file that you'll find you can
really only get to 11x14 (MAYBE 16x20 with the right subject), before it
will start to look "digital." The problem is that most people are over
processing their images and then the resize and the image falls apart.
Better slightly soft that over processed.

Cheers/Chip
