Hi Evrim,

Hey Evrim,

I'm well thank you! It seems like it has been quite here on the list. I
guess everyone has gone over to photo.net now.

I MUCH prefered the way the EOS 1d works compared to the D60 as a camera
body. I didn't get to use the EOS 1d for long, just a couple of hours so I
didn't really get into the way it works compared to the D60 in terms of
software differences. The EOS 1d is much more in line with the way my EOS
1n/1n RS bodies work and I had no problems picking it up and shooting with
it immediately. The EOS D60 was not too different from the EOS 5QD bodies
so I had no problems with it either to tell you the truth. I have read that
some people prefered the D30/D60 user interface software better than the EOS
1d's but AKAIK these are personal preferences IMO not a big deal if you are
flexible.

Yeah, the D60 has a long waiting list from everyone who sells them. I think
this is because they are selling them on eBay for $400-$600 more than the
regular $2,200 we were all told they would cost on the street. Every one
and his dog is claiming to be a Canon authorzed dealer and that they have
them for sale BUT only at ridiculous prices! I'm waiting to see how the
dust is going to settle before I jump in on a D60. The rumors running
around that the D60 will be very short term and that there is a replacement
close to being anounced if not released are very nebulous and some even are
suggestiong that this is the reason for the short supply in face of a large
apparent demand. This rummored digital EOS body may simply be the
replacement for the EOS 1d but WHO knows? I'm still tempted by the D60 even
with its really poor (especially for my usage), AF performance for the film
and processing savings alone. For what an EOS D60 vs. the expense of lab
and film costs (about $15USD per roll for pro film on paper and $10USD for
chromes), I could easily justify it after only 100 or so rolls of film.

Anyway I'm still on the fence but I'm starting the fall toward digital by
leaning that way.

Cheers/Chip
