Greetings,

I took some photographs of starfields
and the milkyway with the D60 this
past Friday. I was curious to see
how well the noise would be reduced /
suppressed. (I actually went to
photograph northern lights, but had
to change my plans due to the lack
of auroras.)

When I analyzed my photographs later,
I noticed that noise was very well
contained, except for 3 or 4 dozen
"error" pixels which would be at the
exact same position in every frame
(a lot of them red, some blue). I
then took a "dark frame" (with the
lens cap on, and it also showed
those "error" pixels.

While this dark frame can be
subtracted from the starfield
photograph, to make the "error"
pixels will disappear, it is
additional work, and thus annoying.

I wonder whether any other listmember
may have experienced this with their
D60, or whether the CMOS in my D60
is faulty. (I thought that e.g. for
flatscreens 5 or so bad pixels would
be acceptable, but four dozen?)
