I also found this to be the case with my two EOS 3 bodies. In my case the
fluctuation was 1/3 to 2/3 stop underexposure compared with three EOS 630
bodies, an EOS 650, and a Pentax digital spot meter. I sent the two cameras
to Canon's repair facility in Irvine, California. They charged $200 per
camera for unspecified "adjustments", and now the two cameras underexpose
consistently by 1/3 stop. I'm not planning to send the cameras back to
Irvine, because it took so long for me to find a convenient time to be
without my cameras for two weeks, and it's easy just to overexpose by 1/3
stop. Also, based on some phone conversations with people in Irvine, I'm
not confident in their ability or motivation to fix the problem.
