I would not actually call it a defect, just a different way of exposing. My
exposure results using 3 EOS3's are similar to Hugo's. I regularly shoot
Velvia on my EOS 3 using ISO 40, while I stick to ISO50 on the 5. However,
with Provia 100F, I found the EOS3 to be spot on. If anything, the EOS5 is
sometimes slightly overexposed. No exposure can ever be 100% spot on for all
people and all films(one man's underexposure might be another man's
overexposure etc.) and so far I'm extremely pleased with the accuracy and
(most important) consistency of the EOS3 meter. (A recent test in Practical
Photography found the EOS3 to be slightly better than the F100 and new
Pentax)
