Sorry I can't answer this, but for me one of the most important questions is:
What's the shutter lag time?
I've had an S100 (Digital Elph) for a couple of years now, and for
what I use it most of the time, it's fine (documentation on
architectural field inspections) but if there's any hint of 'the
decisive moment' in your shot, you'll take pictures of history, not
the decisive moment. My S100 has a typical lag of 1.2 seconds. That
means I've got another picture of my camera bag, because I can put it
away within 1.2 seconds after pressing the button. 1200 milliseconds
is atrocious, and it's not uncommon.
I have no idea of the lag time of the G3, but most digitals fall flat
on their face in this regard. Out of the P&S cameras only the recent
Panasonics seem to have addressed this.
Beware. And test before you buy.
